Welcome to the Lions Club of Algonac. We are 80 ordinary people doing extraordinary things — serving the blind and visually impaired in our community. Our members are men and women from Algonac and throughout St. Clair and Macomb counties. In 2021, the Algonac Lions Club hosted nearly 50 events to serve our community. Our weekly Club meetings are held each Wednesday at 1905 Mill Street, beginning with dinner at 6:30pm. Please call 810.512.8020 to let us know you’ll be joining us.

Our Club is part of Lions Clubs International whose 100+ year history began in 1917, when Chicago businessman Melvin Jones invited business clubs from around the country to a single gathering. Lions Club International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 47,000 clubs in 200+ countries and geographical areas around the world.
In 1924, Helen Keller addressed the Lions at a national convention where she famously challenged the Lions to become “Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness.” The Algonac Lions Club takes this challenge to heart by providing glasses and other assistance to all those we serve who are blind or visually impaired.
The Algonac Lions Club is among the oldest local Lions clubs in the country.
